FEELS, AND ALL THE FEELINGS
Today I have come to realize that this question is actually a luxury for some people. 10 years as a professional dancer I have always said my feelings. I am tired- but then takes red bull and performs back to back shows.
Where I am now is actually a luxury and its not just related to the world of dance. Mothers, caretakers, fathers, breadwinners- all have feelings but no time for it to surface nor the means to investigate and to act in alignment with that feeling. To be able to ask how you feel and act accordingly is such a luxury and it takes time- mine took 10 years, for some people it takes longer. So what I’ve realised is that we can recalibrate what we need to compromise on and this too shall pass..there is always an end for us so we can begin again —hopefully with the luxury of feeling our feelings and doing what is needed to be done for ourselves.
Most people fake “okay-ness” , spiritually bypass and emotionally repress themselves. This is how people deal so they can go through life easy. But another option is to tell people all is well. Walk away and deal with things privately because it helps us find our center, without the noise, without the judgement, without the prying eyes.
So the biggest strategy to boost your wellbeing is gratitude, its not that sophisticated but it works! Its a perspective shift that can make an enormous difference.
